benedikt frey s arresting out of here was the second entry of our blanc series. originally a vinyl-only limited release, now the track gets a fresh new treatment in the hands of two mainstays of european techno: roman flugel and simon haydo. flugel s cosmic disco drama rework lives up to its name, maintaining the noir disco spirit of the original track but infusing it with tension-building sequences and strings that give it an extra mischievous twist. our favorite frankfurter also straightens the rhythmic skeleton and adds shuffling shakers to make it a relentless dancefloor weapon. haydo s remix delves into a more dismal terrain, transforming the vocals into haunted echoes, adding esoteric synths and topping it all with razor-sharp percussion in what sounds like a storm of ice asteroids falling into a lake of steel. the 12inch comes in a beautiful sleeve featuring an exclusive illustration by barcelona-based artist pau lopez and design by arnau pi.

product comes with deluxe hot foil stamping print in a gatefold cover! electrica salsa, revisited 30 years later, remixes by roman flügel and henrik schwarz. france, italy, austria, germany, quite precisely thirty years ago, one electronic track turned the european music charts upside down: electrica salsa by the frankfurt project off - a collective producing their tracks at master music studio. the founders of organisation for fun were no underdogs: michael münzing and luca anzilotti would go on as duo snap! and write global hits like the power or rhythm is a dancer, writing pop history. and the third member of off was then 21-year-old sven väth, today one the most notorious international djs. michael and luca were the masters of equipment, responsible for the mixing desk and the recording tape we used to make the master tapes. i was the one providing song ideas, grooves and bringing a good mood to the studio.

roman poncet returns to figure with another batch of deadly efficient tools featuring four productions in his stripped-back signature style. opener vicious sets the stage with a snappy and muscular breakbeat holding the rhythm down tightly until creeping synths reveal the track’s true, eery intentions. marguerite is more welcoming, with gentle percussion and dubbed out chords making for a loop that could go on forever. the b-side is another example of skillfully sculpting sounds both lean and powerful. on atome i ricocheting synth echoes and fine layers of percussion sway back and forth until they collapse into an extended atmospheric breakdown. starting out reduced to its very nucleus, the second version slowly lets an electrifying tension fill the blank spaces. comprising a set of bare-bone grooves as slick as they are powerfully moving, roman poncet delivers another ep in true figure fashion that is sure to stay in the bag for a long time.
